I met Ruth through the memories of her son, my friend and colleague Michel Neray, and through her memoir. Rarely have I ever felt so strongly that I know someone and yet we’ve never met. The same strength and humor that come through Ruth’s writing clearly live on in her children and grandchildren. I feel as though I’ve touched history and been given a gift to take with me into the future, and I’m so grateful.
